I take every training as an opportunity for me to grow as an athlete and as a person. I know I will be better every time I play or train; that is why I keep going.

I am driven by the possibility of becoming better than the person I was yesterday. It’s that journey to reach the skill level of your role model that makes the end so tangible. After a few falls and scratches, you will not even notice that you are the one others look up to and want to become—and that pushes you to work harder.

I started playing football when I was 11, and futsal when I was around 13. I love the sport and the team. They’re what keeps me playing. Whenever I feel down, all I need is a ball at my feet and I instantly feel happier. It makes me happy when I can execute a skill or a play I’ve been practicing for a long time, and when I see my teammates do the same. It’s not just about making a goal. What really matters is how you get it there.

It’s not a matter of skill but of grit, will, and perseverance. There is no such thing as luck in this sport. Once you start lifting, you’ll realize that it’s an addiction that grows on you. You get to improve not only physically, but also mentally and even spiritually.

Besides having some of the best moments of my life in the sport, I fell in love with it and the way it changed me and made me grow to the person I am today. I can say that if it were not for the sport, I would be a whole different person.

What keeps me playing is my passion and love for dance. It serves as an outlet for all my frustrations, struggles, and even my happiness. Anything I want to express, I can bring out through it. And also, my teammates. The bond I have with them inspires me to stay and grow even more as an athlete and dancer.

Badminton actually helps me study because it eases my stress about work load. It helps me socialize with other people because it teaches me to have the confidence and courage to talk and interact with others.
