On June 26, the Church will celebrate the liturgical feast day of St. Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, who brought to the world the message that God is calling each one of us to be holy wherever we are and whatever our state in life is because “all the paths of the earth can be the occasion for an encounter with Christ” (Letter 24-III-1930, no. 2).
Opus Dei started its apostolic work in the Philippines on May 27, 1964. Dr. Bernardo Villegas reflected on the early years in the four-part write-up below that was published on his website in 2019.
